Why phone and app updates matter for Tor users
An old phone with a fast connection is still an old phone.
System updates
Install security updates as soon as they arrive. They fix flaws that apps, including Tor Browser, cannot protect against.
App updates
Let Tor Browser update automatically. New versions fix browser vulnerabilities and improve onion connections.
End-of-life devices
Phones that no longer receive security updates should not be used for anything sensitive.
Remove what you do not use
Every installed app is something else that needs updating. Uninstall apps you no longer use.
Keep the phone and Tor Browser updated, and retire phones that no longer get security patches.
